Raymond L. Kidd, 75, of Green Township, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at home.

Born in Montclair, Raymond live in Parsippany before moving to Green Township in 1971. He was a United States Navy veteran, proudly serving his country on the USS Kearsarge, CVS 33, during the Vietnam Era. Raymond was the Vice President of Perdue Radio Company in Montclair, retiring in the early 1990’s with 20 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked as a blasters assistant for Allstate Excavating and Construction in Sparta, then he worked as an independent landscaper.

The son of the late Ralph and Jane (nee Vital) Kidd, Raymond is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice J. (nee Schuman) Kidd; two children, Darrell R. Kidd and wife, Susan C., of Phoenix, Arizona, and Donna R. Kidd Groschadl and husband, Robert M., of Green Township; as well as his grandchildren, Lauren E. Kidd, Daniel R. Kidd, Michael R. Groschadl, and Amanda J. Groschadl.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 110 Main Street, Newton. Interment will follow at Tranquility Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ.
