Obituary

Peter T. Marchioni, 86, of Crown Point, New York, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018, surrounded by family, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Township.

Born in Passaic, Peter grew up in the Delawanna section of Clifton and moved to Crown Point in 1991. He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School in Clifton. A United States Army veteran, Peter proudly served in the Military Police Corps from August 25, 1953, to August 24, 1955, during the Korean Conflict. He was an airline mechanic for United Airlines in Newark, retiring in 1991 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Crown Point Bible Church, the Green Mountain Wood Carvers, the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, Inc., and a life member of the NRA. An ethical and honest man, Peter never took more than he needed and never took what was not his.

The son of the late Tullio and Mary (nee Nesterok) Marchioni, Peter was also predeceased by his brothers, Warren and Alan Marchioni. He is survived by three children, Kathleen Marchioni, of East Hanover, Carol Molina and husband, Richard, of Sparta, and Matthew Peter Marchioni and wife, Anna, of Fredon Township; his brother, James Marchioni, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Anita Marchioni, of Clifton Park, New York.

Services and interment are private and are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.
