Obituary

Paul S. Turcsik, 64, of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, died Monday, February 4, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Born in Newark, Paul grew up in Newark then lived in the Lake Tranquility section of Green Township before moving to Dingmans Ferry in 2008. He was graduate of Saint Francis Xavier Grammar School in Newark and was a graduate of Seton Hall High School in East Orange. An installer with Verizon in East Orange, Paul retired after 30 years of service. In his younger years, he attained the rank of Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, and later helped his son become an Eagle Scout.

The son of the late Paul and Lorraine (nee Ciszewski) Turcsik, Paul was also predeceased by his sister, AnnMarie Doktor. He is survived by his son, Matthew Turcsik of Budd Lake; his sister, Patricia Kmetz of Dingmans Ferry; his brother-in-law, Richard Doktor of Toms River; his foster brother, Thomas Asceiwz of Little Rock, Arkansas; his niece, Melissa Kornmeyer; his great-nephew, Wyatt Kornmeyer; and his great-niece, Annabelle Kornmeyer.

Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Newton. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
